Botswana – Okavango Delta- Victoria Falls
The nine-day/eight-night itinerary Botswana and Victoria Falls journeys through some significant natural features of southern Africa.
The safari starts in the Okavango Delta for three nights. The rich waterways are sprawled across the Kalahari Desert in the north-west of Botswana. All this sand filters crystal clear water into lagoons and waterways.
The next stop, the Linyanti Concession, is a series of private wilderness areas with lush wildlife. Ancient floodplains with woods and forests form a varied landscape.
The grand finale is a visit to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River.
On your arrival into Maun, you’ll be met by your pilot. Board the scheduled small plane transfer to the Okavango Delta. Enjoy the spectacular view of jewel-like waterways as you fly in. You may even be able to spot the odd elephant!
You’ll check-in to Chitabe Camp for three nights on a fully inclusive basis.
There will be time for a late afternoon/evening game drive with sundowners, followed by a tasty dinner.
Day 2 and 3
The Okavango River feeds the watery oasis of lagoons and waterways. Pink and white water lilies stud the surface, while below there is abundant life. Fish, crocodile, hippo and plenty of waterbirds inhabit these channels.
Commonly spotted animals include lion, leopard, giraffe, elephants and buffalo. Enjoy twice-daily game viewing activities, including day and night drives and nature walks.
Tip: This area is superb for spotting African wild dog packs. There are also good numbers of cheetah and hyaena. The site of the camp on the edge of the Delta allows excellent year-round game viewing.
