Region - India

India is full of rare species that are little known. The cutest one is perhaps the red panda. With a bearlike body just bigger than a domestic cat and russet fur, the panda is skilful and acrobatic. Their long, busy tails are useful for balancing, but also keeping warm in winter.

They are the only ‘real’ panda in the world as the giant panda is actually a bear!

The eastern Himalaya’s is the only place to see these special creatures in the wild. One of the best spots is within the limits of Singalila National Park.
